Today was “Come be a King and Smoke a Chateau” at Tobacco Republic in Loomis (about 15 miles east of here). HOLY SHIT the drew estate people, especially Fabian Zeigler, were awesome for having the event there (and they’re doing it again in October!!) Wow. What does this have to do with me? Jack shit. I love Drew Estate cigars, I have been smoking cigars, very casually, since 1996. Sometimes going months without one, but usually on friday nights I have one. I tried a Drew Estate Kuba Kuba cigar a couple years ago, and they quickly became my favorite cigar to hunt for around the area. I have learned a lot about cigars and theirs in particular in the past 2 years, their non-machine, yet flavorful take on cigars the spark of my imagination.
Well, on their site, i found a couple places in California that I could get a bigger selection of their cigars at, and have been going to those places when I travel for work. I found Tobacco Republic in Loomis, and they have a special humidor just of Drew Estate stuff, carrying almost everything they turn out. Heaven I tell ya.
Anyway, Ill post my haul later on tonight, but I got a lot of great cigars, including some freebies from D.E and Fabian (thanks man!). Even though I have no real focus for this blog, I will “review” the cigars i try. and by review, i don’t mean “it has a slight oaky flavor followed by a cedar aftertaste with a powerful boquet of apple” or some shit like that. Ill tell you what I taste and experience….Ill start with the Acid Nasty and the Natural Root, since those will have been the two I had today
